RESCHEDULING GAMES

Here is the policies concerning rescheduling games that are canceled or suspended:

• I try to give each team at least 7 days when possible before rescheduling to enable better planning for the new date.  This can and probably will change as we get later in the season as there are less options.

• The rescheduled game will most likely create a week where your team will play three games that week but we will not schedule 4 games during a week.

• Every effort will be made to avoid Saturday mornings but they are possible.

• We won't reschedule games on Sunday.

• No one will play a Double Header unless approved by the Head Coach.

• We may play three games in one night for machine pitch after school is out but only if we can't find any other options.

• It is possible that other games will be adjusted when rescheduling even if they are not the games affected by the weather.  This is only when there are no other options and the affected coaches will be contacted.

 

The process:

• Determining the date/time of the rescheduled games process includes:

  • Determining an open time slot on the appropriate field.

  • Making sure both teams are not playing on that day.

  • Making sure both teams are not playing three games that week.

  • Ideally, scheduling where there are two games that day on the same field as that improves the chances for getting umpires.

  • Making sure there is no conflict for Head Coaches that are coaching two teams.

• Once the games are rescheduled, the website will be updated with the new dates and times.  You should received an automatic email from the website but it is a really good idea to check the website schedule on a regular basis.

 

The Policy:

I am sorry but I just won't have the ability to check with coaches (other than extreme circumstances stated above) to confirm team availability and I won't be able to change a rescheduled game once it is scheduled and posted.  I realize everyone is busy but as you can tell there are a lot of considerations in rescheduling games and any change after the schedule has been posted will most likely affect at least three other teams.  The only situation where games can be changed after they are posted is if there is a policy mistake on my part.

So, the be clear.  If you can not field at least 7 players for a rescheduled game we can't reschedule it and it will be a forfeit.

 

Post Season:

 

Typically, all games that are canceled or suspended in the post season will automatically be moved to the very next day.  (We will still try to avoid Saturdays and will not play on Sunday's.
